The Traeger Wing Manifesto: How To Cook Crispy Wings on Your Traeger
Howdy fellow Ribertarians,
Today I want to talk about something very important, and that "something" is crispy chicken wings on your Traeger.
There's a lot of people out there pushing some sort of whack agenda, preaching that crispy wings on your Traeger are impossible. I'm here to tell you that they're lying and you can 100% absolutely achieve maximum crispiness in only a few short and easy steps.
To start off, you'll need:
- a bottle of our Ribertarian United Steaks of America rub
- cornstarch
- 5-7lbs of wings
- your Traeger
Now, as usual, grab a beer and let's get started.
First things first. In order to achieve maximum crispiness, you'll need to dry out your wings as best as possible. Remove them from the fridge, take them out of their packaging, and dry them off. Once dried, leave them on the counter for 20 minutes then dry them again. Pop them back in the fridge and let them rest for 30 more minutes. This whole process should take about 1 hour total or 3-4 beers.
Once your wings are dried out, go ahead and mix 1/4 cup of our Ribertarian United Steaks of America rub with 4 tbsp of cornstarch. After mixing, rub on your wings.
Preheat your Traeger to 190 and once it's up to temp, pop your wings on for 1 hour.
After an hour, bump the temperature up to 350 and let them ride for about 45 more minutes, rotating halfway through.
Once those two hours are done and you open your Traeger, you'll be blown away by how amazingly crispy and delicious your wings are. Go ahead and toss them in your favorite sauce and get to eating.
And that's all there is to it!
Happy smoking!
